I was just about to type a post on Mastodon listing "websites I miss", and good ol' K5 was on the list. One thing led to another and that reminded me of Husi. What a surprise that it's still around, _and_ that I was able to guess my old username and password!

Learning to draw

As a kid, I always loved to draw, but I ended taking up music as a creative outlet and drawing fell to the wayside. Five-or-so years after I bought a digital tablet to encourage myself to (re)learn to draw, I finally got around to start sketching stuff.

After a series of quick sketches, I tried my hand on drawing something more elaborate. I had this scene in my head and wanted to do it somewhat "realistically". But I feel I'm not there yet. Work-in-progress version inside -- advice is welcome.

Airplane crash

An airplane departed from my city crashed as it arrived in São Paulo tonight, early evening. Over 170 dead.

Update [2007-7-18 12:33:52 by LodeRunner]: An updated list of passengers was released. A friend of mine was in it. He wasn't a close friend, but someone I went to college with. Girlfriend is in shock, they're keeping her sedated. Out of a sudden, old, fun stories from our college days come to mind. So sad.

It's been a long time since I last checked out Husi. And what a coincidence to see clock's post about recording The Final Cut, as I have done something in that vein just recently.

It was a crazy thing to do but, anyway... I recorded the whole first side of Marillion's Misplaced Childhood on a single guitar and vocals.

So, why not post it here for your thr^H^H^Henjoyment. :)

Multiple IM status

What sense should one make when people are "online" in one IM protocol and "away" in the other; or "offline" in one protocol and "do not disturb" in another; or any other combination of two or three diferent status messages?

Nostalgia

An observation on the perception of time. Clicking around from the IMDB Bottom 100 list, I got to Spice World. Those girls were big in the pop world not that long ago and some of them are still making headlines. I wouldn't expect the spotlight comment in its IMDB entry to be titled like this:
